The Snakeman Raymond Hoser pioneered this style of reptile show way back in the 1970's and this has been copied to a limited extent by others since, (as in occasionally letting a birthday child hold something for a photo opportunity).
So in some ways the claim that Snakebusters shows are the only "hands
on" shows must be tempered by the concession that some others emulate our company to the slighest degree.
But one thing is clear.
No other company in Melbourne routinely lets everyone hold reptiles at their parties, shows, incursions and events, except Snakebusters.
Snakebusters are the only company that do "full-on hands on" where lots of reptiles are out at once and being held by the audience, so that everyone can have "hands on" without having to wait their turn.
But as a rule other companies point blank refuse to allow any public interaction with reptiles beyond perhaps a fleeting "touch" of the tail or similar (what they call "hands on").
At parties, we let everyone hold everything. The best any of our less experienced competitors do is to allow the birthday child the right to hold the critters for a fleeting photo opportunity.
